Hi, I'm Haley
I'm the founder of Fort Worth Weird Moms, and one of the co-founders of FWCC.
I was born and raised on the Gulf Coast, but have been fortunate to call Fort Worth home for almost 10 years now! It still feels weird to live above sea level sometimes. I have two queer AF kids, 2 asshole cats, 1 asshole dog and a husband. I'm passionate about mutual aid, building communities and ensuring that everyone gets a seat at the table. In my non-existent spare time, I love to read, work on needlepoint and cross-stitch projects and spend time outside!
Why did I join FWCC?
Because my best friend asked me to, haha. In all seriousness, I joined because I saw myself in every single person who came to our first pop-ups. Even as a white, hetero-passing, able bodied female, I have experienced discrimination and been denied access to resources that I desperately needed. And I knew that if I personally was experiencing this, it must be so much worse for BIPOC, LGBTQT, and differently-abled folks. So when Kelly approached me and said "Hey, I have this idea... Who cares WHY they need clothes, let's make it easy. Everything is free for everyone", I couldn't sign on fast enough!
My favorite task at FWCC is:
Unboxing donations and restocking the racks! It's like a treasure hunt. You never know what you're gonna find!
My personal goals for FWCC are:
I want to make FWCC my full-time, bill-paying, life-fulfilling job. No offense to my current employer :)
My business goals for FWCC are:
I want FWCC to be a shopping destination in Fort Worth! #SecondHandFirstChoice
Where do I think FWCC will be in one year? In five years?
In one year, we will have our own building complete with parking, a washer/dryer and tons of room to display all our clothing! In five years, we will take over the world.
