We have been getting the ball in motion as of late, trying to reach out to you. You. You wonderful, patient people.
Some of you may be interested in being a volunteer. Some of you may want to buy our new, fantstic merchandise. Some of you just want to browse around and see what we're all about. And by the way, none of these demographics are mutually exclusive to one another (if it's even worth mentioning.)
We will cut to the chase: at the time you're reading this we have both simultaneously had a lot in mind and have a lot more on the horizon. We don't want this to be a one-way-street relationship. Quite honestly, a two-way-street is the bare minimum in our eyes. We want the relationship between us and you to be symbiotic. That is, we want to make as much events as you (be it a volunteer, a donor, a sponsor, all of the above) have input and insight into our organization.
To be perfectly blunt, there's no rhyme or reason in making events that not only you don't show up for, but aren't even interested in. We call ourselves Fort Worth Community Collaborative for that exact reason.
We weren't sure which word to emphasize there, as they are of equal importance, but that leads us to another point: the "Collaborative." We love finding fellow organizations to partner with in this fine city, and truthfully, cannot do it without them. Fostering past relationships is just as important as finding new ones. Ultimately, that is what we sought out to do all those years ago with the weird moms group.
As we venture further and further into the future, we can not dismiss that group, our roots, that molded us into who we are today. You can see us on Kelly Clarkson. You can read about us in the Star. The truth of the matter is, you could put us in the Louvre and we still wouldnt want it to be about us. We want it to be about you. You, the community. That is why we emphasize it.
That leaves us with Fort Worth, the last third of the identity. In and of itself, Fort Worth is its own individual, distinct identity. An identity who holds a wealth of identities within.
This is getting convoluted, but the fact remains that the city of Fort Worth holds a strong enough size to create a perpetual synergy amongst its populates. People know each other, and care about each other here. For whatever reason, the people hold a fundamental connection unlike many other places.
So when we sell a tote bag, we want it to represent so much more than a monetary profit. We want you to wear your bag, and see another Fort Worthian wear their bag, instilling this mindset that there is a connection there. We're FWCC. We want Fort Worth with you. We want community with you. We want to collaborate with you.
