Hello, I'm Brianna

I am a native Texan and have spent most of my life in the Fort Worth area.  I spent seven years in London, England, which will always feel like my second home. If I am taking a vacation, it is probably to London, I will always go back there as often as I can. I am a wife and mother of two teenagers. Yes, I have lost my mind now that I live with two teenagers.  I have two little rescue dogs that I love, and I will show you pictures if you mention pets.

Why did I join FWCC?

FWCC is an amazing organization that is doing so much good in our community. So, when I was offered the chance to help more, I knew I had to join the board and do more.  I am so grateful to be part of this organization.

My favorite task at FWCC is:

My favorite task at FWCC is a hard question to answer. I love connecting with new people who come to volunteer or shop when I get the chance. I enjoy seeing people’s faces light up when you find an item that they love and know they can take it home. I honestly love the chaos of the sort room where people are all working on different tasks, chatting and doing good work.

My personal goals for FWCC are:

I would love to see FWCC continue to grow bigger and better than ever.  I am hoping we can sort through enough items to serve more than 200 (double our current number of) shoppers per open shop day, which is a short-term goal. I would like to see the need for more open shop days.  Long term, it would be amazing if this could turn into a full-time job for us all, so we can do what we love all the time. Connecting our community with the clothes they need at no cost at all.

My business goals for FWCC are:

I am so grateful to be a part of something so special that is already helping 100s of people every shopping weekend. There is also no better feeling than watching someone’s face light up when they find that one item that they love and tell them they can take it home for free.

Where do I think FWCC will be in one year? In five years?

hope in a year’s time that FWCC will be a full-time job for our co-founders, hopefully with a few more shopping days per month at least. In five years’, time we could have our own shop with an attached storage room and be open most days out of the month for shopping. I hope that this is the full-time job for our board members. I would love to see us helping other cities and entities create their own community closets to help people find clothes they need and keep clothes out of landfills.
